Suzane Wilbur, MS, PMHCNS-BC, has been a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association since 1996. She served on the national APNA Awards and Recognition Committee for several years, three of those years as Chair. She was the national APNA Annual Conference Program Chair in 2006. Suzane is currently the Treasurer of the APNA California Chapter.
For the past 31 years, Suzane Wilbur has been a psychiatric mental health nurse for the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health (LAC-DMH), the largest public mental health agency in the nation. She has extensive experience in psychiatric emergency services and in developing and managing mental health programs for people with severe and persistent mental illness. Suzane currently works part time for the behavioral health department of San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning, CA. She provides recovery-oriented group psychotherapy to people that are recovering from severe and persistent mental illnesses. She lives in Palm Desert with her husband and enjoys cycling, reading and discussions with her book club.
