Just FYI...
I have been getting a fair smount of reimbursement for smoking cessation counseling during my patient encounters. The codes are time specific and time spent on subject must be documented!
90407 - pays roughly $25.00 --for greater than 10 minutes
90406 - pays roughly $13.00 --for 3-10 minutes
These codes are good to use since 75% of our pt population smokes!
