Bio

I am currently a BSN to PhD student at the University of Michigan and completed my Masters of Science Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing in August of 2012. I have also successfully completed my board certification examination as a Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and am looking for job opportunities.
I am originally from a small town in central Wisconsin and received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2010.
During my undergraduate program, I was a member of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars program where I was introduced to nursing research involving military wives during deployments. That experience sparked my interest in nursing research and solidified my passion for working with military families and those with mental health issues.
My research interests are currently focused on military families and their coping and adaptations to stressors, specifically parenting stress. Another related research interest is resilience and resilience fatigue. I plan to create a career in teaching and research and am passionate about advancing the profession of nursing.
