The Brattleboro Retreat, in Brattleboro, Vermont, is currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator!
As a member of the Clinical Education team and reporting to the Director of Professional Development and Nursing Standards, the Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the ongoing and annual training and development of all the nursing staff and competency validation of staff in areas of de-escalation, suicide assessment, seclusion/restraint, medication administration, trauma-informed care, and evidenced based intervention skills.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills and experience in:
- Development, implementation, and evaluation of initial and ongoing competency validation
- Assessing the educational needs of direct care staff
- Ability to formulate and develop plans, procedures, and program content designed to meet specifically identified training/educational needs of nursing staff
- Advanced psychiatric nursing skills across age/populations including:
- Providing consultation and guidance to all levels of the nursing staff pertinent to patient care problems in the in-patient setting
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
