Dear PMHNP Program new graduates,
My name is Eun Young Martineau, I am the new program director for PMHNP Training & Residency Program at the SLC VA Medical Center in Utah. In partnership with the University of Utah College of Nursing, we are offering a new residency program for recent PMHNP graduates. We are currently recruiting for applicants to participate in this exciting opportunity.
We posted the residency application last April and closed; however, we decided to re-open the application for those who will graduate in Aug.2016.
The PMHNP Residency program is a 12-month learning experience, which will accept the first cohort of 6 residents to begin in September/October 2016. The resident will build a case load in outpatient mental health, attend weekly didactics, engage in leadership training, and complete an evidence based project at the VAMC. The resident will also have the opportunity to rotate through different settings including inpatient psychiatry, intensive case management, ACT/CRISIS, and SUD treatment. The goal of this program is to recruit and retain qualified PMHNPs with enhanced exposure and training in Veteran’s mental health issues.
Originally our applications were due by Friday, April 15th 2016 but we extend the time by 7/22/2016.
