I sort of chuckled to myself about the lab coat...when I was doing my internship as a psych nurse practitioner, one of the psychiatrists I worked with commented that it was good that my lab coat was short because the longer coats were associated with being a doctor. I had never thought about the length in particular when I bought it, just the price! I never realized there were certain rules regarding it....LOL...In nursing school our lab coats were long.
