Research on nurses' with PTSD

By Kathleen Byrne posted 05-12-2015 11:56 PM

Hello,
I am assisting a nurse collegue on research regarding PTSD in nurses.  If anyone knows of a seasoned psych NP or a psychiatrist in the Massachusetts area that would be willing to speak to this subject; it would be greatly appreciated.  We are in the early stages of research and looking to present our information to the MNA union's Congress on Health and Safety.  Thank you in advance for your support!

Katie I agree with Sheila to contact the VA. Also keep in mind people do heal and get better. The integration into the workforce and employment is one component in healing, especially for veterans. There are different types of PTSD and the majority of people who possess a mental illness are not dangerous or harmful to themselves or others but with the right tools and the right environment can achieve quality of life, just like yourself. We need all types of nurses!
