I personally think that until we have more Psychiatric Hospitals built, we can use regular hospital beds .
Why the isolation, unless someone is really violent?
Some mental health patients also have other chronic diseases like diabetes, liver, kidney diseases and heart problems, so why cant they be placed on regular floors?
I believe it would help all practitioners to develop a more holistic approach in treating all clients, and not separate mental illness from other diseases. It would reduce the stigma towards those battling a mental illness,( including healthcare workers), that presently exists in the Health Care System.
