Brenda Patzel, PhD, APRN, PMHNP-BC, PMHCNS-BC
PMHNP Postgraduate Certificate Program Director
Dr. Patzel is has been the PMHNP program director since January 2013. Brenda is an Associate Professor specializing in psychiatric mental health nursing and has been a nurse educator in both graduate and undergraduate programs since 1991, and has been at Washburn University since 2004. In addition to teaching, she maintains an active faculty practice providing psychotherapy and psychopharmacological services to adults.
She is a graduate of Washburn University with a BSN, an MSN for the University of Kansas, and completed her PhD from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She also has completed a post graduate certificate as a PMHNP from University of Kansas.
