Dr. Evans is Founder and President of HealthStat Consulting LLC and the former Associate Vice President for Behavioral Health Services for Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, NJ. He has 34 years experience in nursing working in the areas of chronic, catastrophic illness (cancer, AIDS), addictions, general nursing and mental health. He completed a Master of Science in Counseling and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Evansville (Indiana) and a Doctor of Divinity degree from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. He is also a graduate of New York Theological Seminary with a Certificate in Christian Ministry. Ben has earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from UMDNJ School of Nursing. Dr. Evans has over twenty years experience in teaching in LPN and RN nursing programs and in continuing education for health care providers. He is the past president of the NJ Chapter of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care and is a past Board member at Large for the American Psychiatric Nurses’ Association and Secretary of the NJ State Nurses’ Association. He was just elected President of the APNA-NJ Chapter and is the founding president of the Academy of Doctors of Nursing Practice in New Jersey. His publications include: “Spirituality in HIV Disease”; “Complementary Therapies and HIV Disease” and “AIDS Grief as Dissonance to the Spirit”. He has given numerous presentations on health, mental health and spirituality. Dr. Evans is a Board Certified Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and is a Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner and Certified Laughter Leader. He is an ordained priest and bishop in the Old Catholic Communion.
