Looking to find a PMHNP in New Jersey for clinical rotations: May 2019 (Summer I), Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters

Hello!  My name is Jacqueline Arnone, PhD, RN, and I am in Maryville University's Post-Masters PMHNP program. As an educator in higher learning, I know first hand how difficult it is to find psychiatric nursing facilities and psychiatric nurses to be clinical instructors, so that is why I am starting early in seeking preceptors for myself.

I am looking for a preceptor for next May 2019 (Summer I), Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters.  The first two semesters requires 215 hours of clinical experience, and the Spring 2020 semester requires 230 hours.  I live in Eatontown, New Jersey. While finding a preceptor in either Monmouth, Ocean or Middlesex county would be ideal, I would travel either north or south of where I live.  I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Nursing at Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey so I would also be amenable to working with a preceptor in the southern counties.   We are also allowed to have a psychiatrist as a preceptor, so if you know of any who would be amenable to being a preceptor, please let me know.  Any information or guidance you may have would be greatly appreciated.  Also, please feel free to pass my request along to any colleagues you may know who are not APNA members.

You can reach me at: Jacqueline.Arnone@stockton.edu, for more information. Thank you so very much.

Best,
Jacqueline

Jacqueline,
It is sad for me to see that no one has gotten back to you related to your request for a preceptor. It would appear that members of the APNA do not support growth and development of the profession at an advance degree level. I am sorry that I not able to help with this requirement. Best of luck with your degree.

Sincerely,
Debra Booth BSN, RN
