The Voice of Nurse Executives on Intrapersonal Nursing Violence in U.S. Hospitals

Final Interviews being conducted until December 9, 2020
. If you are interested in participating, I still have a small number of interview slots available, but it is urgent that you respond to this posting as soon as possible to ensure that your voice is heard on this persistent nursing issue. As far as I have been able to determine this is the first time that Nurse Executives have shared their lived experience to address the phenomenon of nursing violence in the workplace. Within our current societal and political culture this phenomenon remains pervasive despite the demands of the COVID Pandemic. If this message resonates with you, please respond NOW to be included in this timely research!

Despite the support of professional organizations, guidelines, education, and mitigation efforts, Nurse Executives experience a persistence of nurse-to-nurse violence in the workplace. To address a paucity of research, this study will allow the voice and lived experience of inpatient nurse executives to be heard. The online survey takes 10 minutes, with an optional 60-minute interview. If interested contact Kathleen Lehmann, (EdD[c]) at klehmann2@liberty.edu or call 508-638-8578. You may begin the survey immediately by clicking here.

Participants do not have to be a member of APNA - or a psychiatric-mental health nurse. I would greatly appreciate it if this invitation is given the widest dissemination possible. As with all Doctoral Research, time is of the utmost importance as I have much work to do and many deadlines to meet.  I appreciate everyone who has already participated in my study, as well as those of you who have reached out to me to share your story, resources, and ask questions. Thank you for your interest and support!.

A special note to those who previously attempted to complete the survey but were excluded because of being outside of New England - this study has now been approved for the entire U.S. geographical area and I have updated the online survey. You are welcome to complete the survey at this time. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact me and allow me to help you access the survey.  I hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all who have contacted me, especially those who made the extra time to participate in my research or not. Stay Safe!
