In-school based pmhnp

Looking for information from any in-school based PMHNP's. How this system works? Consents? Average salary? etc...I am currently looking at a job that will be created just for me to begin in the school system comprised of about 10 schools.

Hello Kristyn,

I am following because my background is in school nursing. I helped build a school health program for a major charter organization post-Hurricane Katrina and there are definitely some intricacies depending on the state.
I am currently working on my PMHNP. I work at a therapeutic day program for K-12 aged children who have behaviors too severe to remain on a traditional campus. Our program is modeled on school but incorporates revised schedules, breaks, medication management, individual, group, PLAAY, and recreation therapies. As we expand I hope to be able to fulfill a PMHNP role here.
