Bio

Brynne Delaney Calleran MSN, BSN, BS, NE-BC, IN-BC, RN-BC is a PD Nurse Educator at Gracie Square Hospital and PD Clinical Nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester Division (NYP/WD). She is a Board Officer for the American Psychiatric Nurses Association’s (APNA’s) New York Chapter and a Program Facilitator of APNA's Essential Nursing Competencies in Suicide Risk Assessment & Management. She was recently appointed to APNA’s Personality Disorders Task Force Steering Committee and is the 2019 recipient of APNA’s Excellence in Nursing Leadership (RN) Award.

Brynne is excited to be supporting Gracie Square Hospital on their journey to Magnet Designation; she previously helped facilitate NYP/WD's journey to becoming the only freestanding psychiatric hospital in the world with that designation, a distinction they received a year ago in December 2018. During her time as Co-Chair of NYP/WD’s Psychiatric Nursing Practice & Informatics Committee Brynne led the development of the Nursing Suicide Risk Inventory (NSRI) hoping to innovate the world’s first electronic nursing-specific suicide risk identification, documentation, and communication tool for inpatient psychiatry. She has since presented on the tool’s development and her ideas for improving risk identification at the national and state level.

In the past, Brynne has served on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier, with a focus on community-based suicide prevention. She is a 2016 recipient of Hudson Valley Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing Award and is recognized as a Sigma Theta Tau Community Nurse Leader. Brynne received her Master of Science Degree in Nursing Informatics from Western Governors University, her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Binghamton University, and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development (Social & Personality Psychology) from Cornell University.​​​​​​ She is in the process of completing her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Writing at Sarah Lawrence College.
