Bio

Jane Le Vieux, PhD, RN-BC, LPC-S, RPT-S* is the clinical manager for inpatient psychiatry at
Children’s Health-Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, Texas. She has worked with children and families more than 30 years as a nurse, clinical therapist and play therapist.

Dr. Le Vieux has published articles and book chapters on the topics of grief, loss and trauma. In addition, she collaborates with Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service publishing research abstracts on such topics as “Patterns for a University Based Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service”, “Hope’s Potential in Promoting Quality of Life in a Pediatric Cancer Population”, “Comparing Non-Self Injurious Behavior and Self Injurious Behavior in Children”,
“Developing High Risk Behavior Standards of Care for Pediatric Patients.”.

Dr. Le Vieux is a member of the National Disaster Medical Response Team, has worked extensively with children and adolescents with medical and psychological trauma. She works many first responders who provide direct care to children and families in the community on a daily basis.

Dr. Le Vieux has presented at numerous local, regional and national conferences on such topics as attitudes toward mental illness in pediatric patients, children’s responses to chronic illness, youth suicide prevention, as well as the impact of trauma and loss. She has been recognized as one of the 2008 Dallas-Fort Worth Great One Hundred Nurses, recipient of 2010 Children’s Medical Center Nurse Excellence Award and the 2012 D Magazine Excellence in Nursing award for Psychiatry.
