Psych NP Collaborative Protocols

Hi,

I am just finishing up my PMHNP degree, but have been a family/geriatric NP for many years. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their NP protocols for Mental Health, as I am starting with a psychiatrist who has not had an NP previously.

Thank you,

Ann Lowe

You can find EBP guidelines on APA & NIMH. ADHD info at American Academy of Pediatrics & CHADDS website. Also I like NICE-National Institute of Health & Care Excellence, out of the UK.

I am an ACNS & FNP returning to obtain certification as PMHNP.  I am NOT going for my DNP. I am already functioning as a PMHNP because the only competency missing between my 2 degrees is the psychotherapy (ind/family/group) section. I have change theory, MI & all the other good change theory stuff complements of my ACNS. I can get my post-cert in 3 semesters versus how many years, finances & papers later.

Hi Ann,

This does not pertain to your question so I apologize. I do have a question for you though. Did you go the MSN route or DNP route to become a PMHNP? and what was your rationale? Loaded question I know, I am just trying to decide which route I want to go. Thank you

Hi All,

Does anyone want to share any protocols for an NP/psychiatrist collaborative practice?

Thank you,
