I have a website and blog and struggle to use my official title, "PMHCNS-BC" because no one knows what those initials mean!  Anyone have suggestions, other than write an explanation down for others to understand?

I wish I had an answer for you. When I received my certification I wrote "APRN-BC", then the ANCC sent me the new credentials of "PMHNP-BC". this was exciting until the state of Massachusetts brought more confusion to the table with my license. It shows RN-NP. The crazy thing is that I work at a foundation that hired me into a Clinical Nurse Specialist role, so when I document in our electronic medical record it shows me as RNCS. What do I say to the public about who I am? When I am asked what my credentials are I'm not sure how to completely answer without giving a nursing history lesson. The experience of choosing a credential creates a dissociative experience in a way. I say we all choose one title and go with it.
