Pens and pencils are a problem in any psychiatric hospital. Sometimes using a "sharps list" may help to
keep track of what you give out. We list pencils and pens. Pens can be a very dangerous weapon
especially if you are struck with them in the eye. We try to utilize small pencils without the
metal band erasers. Pens are only given out to sign documents.
