I am seeking information from anyone who has knowledge and or experience with a dual role because of employment through two separate organizations. Specifically, I am looking for evidence based support for this situation. I am currently employed by a large healthcare system and work for a nationally recognized psychiatric teaching hospital. I accepted a part time position with a nursing school which uses our hospital for their clinical rotations. My current employer has concerns about my fellow nurses having difficulty differentiating my role as a nursing instructor from my usual employee role on the days I am instructing for the other organization. I would appreciate evidence in support of this being a non-issue for the employer. I would appreciate anyone in similar circumstances sharing their experiences. I would also appreciate problems that have in fact occurred and how they were managed.
