I am part of an administrative team that is connected to a free standing psychiatric facility. As part of our safety and quality meetings we have begun to discuss 15 mins random checks and if they should be implemented on every patient during their hospital stay. We currently perform them on all child/adolescent and adult intensive care unit patients however, we do not perform them routinely on our less acute voluntary adult unit. We are looking to see what other organizations are doing.
