The Dr. Susan L. Davis, RN and Richard J. Henley College of Nursing at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT seeks interested psychiatric mental-health nurses, including nurse practitioners to serve on their PMHNP Advisory Board as the college launches its online psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program in August 2023. This is a remote, volunteer opportunity to serve solely in an advisory capacity to the Dean of the College of Nursing in supporting and promoting the development of this new specialty.

The first priority of the board will be to serve as content and clinical experts to provide professional commentary and a national perspective on this newly developed specialty and to collaborate with the faculty and nursing leadership team to ensure that it addresses disciplinary expectations for content and clinical experiences. As this new specialty progresses, the board will continue to advise and assist the Dean of the School of Nursing in pursuing critical priorities in keeping with the college’s vision and mission; to serve as advocates for the PMHNP program with relevant constituent groups; and to facilitate professional networks and alliances through the support and development of positive internal and external relationships.

Board members will be expected to meet remotely for approximately 1-2 hours, two times per year, and occasionally be available by email to respond to communications regarding the PMHNP program. To be considered, please provide a current CV and a personal statement about your interest and qualifications in serving on the advisory board.

Please send inquiries to Dr. Cynthia O’Sullivan, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Global Nursing Programs, Davis and Henley College of Nursing, at osullivanc@sacredheart.edu.
