Cell Phones on Mental Health Units

Hello,
Do any of you allow your patients to use cell phones on the unit? If so do you have a protocol? And, what type of inspiring groups do you provide to your patients?

Hi Mary. We do not allow the use of cell phones on our unit at all. When patients are admitted we supervise retrieval of contact numbers and secure the phone with other belongings considered contraband.
