Hello all, my move from Arizona to Maryland in a pandemic has been incredibly challenging for licensure. No place to get fingerprinted ( now there is), and employment opportunities very thin. I have over a dozen years of Prescriptive Authority as a prescribing CNS in Massachusetts. I went back and got my NP since I needed that to prescribe anywhere else. In MD, if this is your first NP certification you have to put a "mentor" on your license application. As far as I can see, there are no "requirements" other than someone is listed on your application. Yes, I am a "first time" NP, but have been a CNS for decades and then with prescriptive authority.
Is there anyone in MD who would be willing to talk with me about the possibility of filling the mentor role, so I can get licensed? I am happy to have you talk to my former supervisors and NP's. I mean I can't get a license, to get a job, to get a mentor. Can't find a mentor because I just moved. MD requires this for 18 months, as you know. Also any advice on my dilemma appreciated.
Thank you so much.
