I'm interested in learning everything I can about how to sort out and place appropriate priority on issues presented by psych patients in the ED. One of my responsibilities as charge nurse on nights is to assess patients who come to the ED - many of them "frequent visitors." I work at a relatively small community hospital and many of the patients are known to the ED and the inpatient unit. They tend to misuse the ED - often because they believe themselves to be out of resources. Thank you for any suggestions, protocols, etc.
