Behavioral Rapid Response Teams

Seems like the time has come. I got several responses to my E-group query and am still not certain of the difference between that and "blogging" so here goes:

Not the "goon quad" with take down and restriants drawn, but the early call for verbal intervention when a patient or visitor relationship is not going well. Goal is to prevent escalating to the physical or verbal aggressive stage.

Behavioral Rapid Response Teams appear to be a relatively new concept. Most of the folks who responded reported theirs to be <5 yrs. in existence and majority seem to have significant influence of AP nurses to intiate them.

For those folks who didn't see my E-group query please share what you know about
B-RRTs: experience with, how they started, disciplines involved, type of setting employed, anything else you think is relevant.

Thanks,
Rita Mack

I am interested in Behavioral Rapid Responce Team development. I work in a long term care psychiatric facility that treats forensic clients. The clients are minimum to intermediate security level. We do not want to create a "goon squad". We want to ensure safety for the client demonstrating self harm or aggression towards others.
