ON call

I am also a psych CNS with prescriptive authority.  I work for a general hospital psych services.  I am on call every 3 weekdays and every 4th weekend. It is a salaried position and there is no additional compensation for on call.  I come in to do rounds on the weekend and admit and discharge.  It ends up being 12 days straight work time when I have a weekend, since we don 't get comp time off despite working at least 4 hours most weekend "on call " days.

I began working out pt psych, as a provider in a no call position for 1.5 years. Recently a 3 of 5 providers left, now the MD has "ordered" me to take call. My job description and position letter Dont have call in them. I'm fighting this. I moved to WI to take this job not having call. Position is a non acute position. Any suggestions

I certainly would be negotiating! I have worked for 1.5 pay on weekend call to comp time. It is all in the negotiation.
