Dear Colleagues,
I have been invited to serve as a Guest Editor for an upcoming issue of Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America that will focus on the care of patients with psychiatric and/or substance abuse issues in the critical care setting. I see this as an important opportunity for psychiatric nurses to provide guidance to nurses functioning in the critical care setting that will improve the care received by patients with psychiatric and/or substance abuse issues. Critical care nurses do not routinely read the psychiatric nursing literature, so this upcoming issue will provide psychiatric nurses with a conduit to inform these colleagues.
I am writing to invite APNA members to provide a manuscript proposal on this topic. I will show the schedule of deadlines below.
Deadlines:
1) June 26, 2011: Proposed article title and brief description and/or outline due to Susan Weeks (
s.weeks@tcu.edu). Authors selected for inclusion will be notified and provided with guidelines for preparing their manuscript.
2) November 1, 2011: Manuscript due to Susan Weeks (
s.weeks@tcu.edu). Feedback will be provided
regarding content modifications, if requested.
3) February 1, 2012: Final manuscript due to publisher.
