A Servant Leader at Heart!

I have served in the caring profession of Nursing since I was 17 years of age at my first summer employment at our local nursing home. I was deeply impressed by my nursing leaders and I sought continued work as a student nursing assistant at my local hospital in Bastrop, LA, and later I was honored to be chosen as a  nurse tech in the operating room at one of NOLA largest medical institutions.  I journeyed from there to college and declare nursing as a major.  Nursing remains my major investment to life I have worked in psychiatric nursing since 1992 and each moment and day remains a reward.

As a previous educator at 3 LA Universities since 1995

As a International Medical Missionary with over 13 Nations since 2005 in Asia, Europe, Africa, and 4 Caribbean Islands (Bahamas, Jamaica, Grenada, and Dominica).

As an Advanced Practice Nurse as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychosocial Nursing in 1994 and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2006, I remains just as committed and devoted to the profession since I entered my first role.

I have served on local boards to support mental health, NAMI Ruston and served as state Vice President of NAMI LA. I have served on the SAMSHA Substance Abuse Advisory Council to two Governors of LA Foster and Blanco and I served as a member of the PAIMI Council for the The Advocacy Center of LA, NOLA  and as a Treasurer on the The Advocacy Center (now Disabilities Rights of LA) to advocate for proper and improved treatment of disabled persons in LA.
