Phenomenon of Readiness--Practice Guidelines?

Hello.
This is my first venture into the "blog world". 

I'm interested in describing the phenomenon of readiness as it relates to HIV+ patients who attend their initial psychiatric evaluation appointment in an effort to reduce no show rates.

Is anyone aware of any clinical practice guidelines on readiness?   Or any well designed evidence based research on the topic?
