Hi -
I'm sure you clicked because of the title. Thank you for stopping by.
After almost 5 years with the organization, my current nurse manager recently decided that she needed a change and will be transferring to the outpatient side of our hospital. She graciously gave us 7.5 weeks notice to help us with transition. We are an 81 bed inpatient psych hospital-part of a major academic medical center in Northern Florida. We are nestled in the peace and quiet of a fun Gator college town.. I've been with this hospital for over 1.5 years and, a year ago, we started our TIC Journey (both psych hospital and the Department of Psychiatry, including all physicians). We are also evolving trying to address inpatient staffing with the end-goal of advancing the role of the staff RN in an inpatient psychiatric unit through appropriate and adequate staffing. If you contact me by email (see below) and give me your contact info, I will connect with you and I can share with you some of the wonderful things that we've done and the things that we are planning on doing.
I am looking for a new nurse manager, who will be my full partner and collaborator, who truly wants to make a difference and impact the lives of our patients by supporting and developing our staff (especially our staff nurses so they can grow and develop as "consummate psychiatric nurses" who are experts in nursing and experts in caring. Below is the link to our hospital listings of job openings:
