I have being a nurse since 2008. I started as PCA, and then HHA, CNA, LPN, BSN and now I have my MSN and working to get my PMHNP-BC. I was a Med-Surg nurse and I switch to Mental Health Nurse due to one of my children died by suicide. Since then, I wanted to help others since I was on denial at that time. I did not believed it will happen to me. But I’ve learnt and grow. My background in patient assessment, diagnostic care, and therapeutic planning aligns well with my present mission of offering innovative and holistic mental health treatment.
In my Behavioral Health job at Sun Behavioral Hospital, and recent practicum at Modern Psych and Wellness and Access Health Dayton, I had the opportunity to work directly with patients managing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. This hands-on experience enhanced my clinical skills in complex cases and solidified my commitment to building a trusting, supportive environment for all patients. Additionally, my collaborative approach to care has allowed me to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to improved patient outcomes. I am particularly drawn to any organization’s integrated care model, which complements my commitment to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Working different places and also traveling jobs has strengthened in this field.
