Dr. Mays graduated from the University of Florida in 2015 with a DNP in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University in 2001 with an emphasis on clinical research management. In 2013, she earned a post-masters psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certificate from the University of Florida. Her primary interest in research includes the impact of drug addiction on families, the effect of tobacco smoking on the mental health population, and trauma informed care.
