I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky where I attended Jefferson Community College getting my ADN in 1983. Then in 1986, I completed my BSN at Spalding University. I joined the Army Nurse Corps in 1986 spending over 9 years on active duty. I finished my MSN at the University of Kentucky in 1997. I attained my Psych-Mental Health Certification as a CNS in 1997. That year I took a job with prescriptive authority at a local Community Mental Health Agency. In 2000 I moved to a position with the Veterans Administration working in an outpatient community based clinic as a prescribing provider. In 2002, after 22 years of service I retired at the rank of Major from the Army Reserve. From 2000-2007 I worked part time in a private practice. Then in 2011, I finished my Post Masters Certificate from Northern Kentucky University. In 2012 I became an ANCC certified Adult Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In 2013 I retired from the Veterans Administration and went to work for Floyd Memorial Medical Group-Behavioral Health, now Baptist Health Medical Group. I left that position in 2017 to pursue Locum Tenens work. I am currently on assignment with Barton & Associates the Locum Tenens experts.
