Anasara Henry, DNP, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC has been an active member of APNA since 2017, and currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the APNA Iowa Board.
Dr. Henry is a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner in the areas of Psychiatric Mental Health and Adult Geriatric Primary Care. She earned her Doctorate from the University of Iowa with special emphasis in population level healthcare. She has over 15 years experience in healthcare and currently works as a Psychiatric Hospitalist at UnityPoint Health in Sioux City, Iowa. Dr. Henry also serves as a consultant for the Iowa PCA Project Echo. Anasara spent 5 years as the Director of Behavioral Health Services at United Community Health Center in Storm Lake, Iowa. Academic teaching experience includes: 5 years as an Associate Professor at Briar Cliff University in the Graduate Nursing Program.
Dr. Henry’s professional interests include managing complex mental health disorders, treatment of geriatric syndromes, and improving access to mental health care for all Iowans. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and anything outdoors.
