Dr. Travis Aultman holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from GCSU and received a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition to nursing education, Mr. Aultman maintains roles as a board certified psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner and sexual assault nurse examiner. His background includes nursing professional development, quality improvement, medical-surgical nursing, and has published and presented nationally on disaster nursing curricula. Dr. Aultman is a sought-after speaker for topics related to psychiatric nursing, mental health, and been recognized for his scholarship and professional achievements as the recipient of GCSU’s Lamp of Leadership Award (2020), College of Health Sciences Young Alumnus of the Year Award (2021), and UAB School of Nursing’s Outstanding Graduate Student Award (2024). He remains engaged in numerous community service opportunities including rural and underserved mobile clinic events, SANE trainings, and mentorship for aspiring and current nurses across the southeast. Dr. Aultman maintains membership in Sigma Theta Tau, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the Academy of Forensic Nursing, and accepted his nomination to the College of Health Sciences Leadership Board at Georgia College & State University in 2023.
