Donna McDonald is an emergency psychiatric nurse practitioner at Butler Psychiatric Hospital. She also specializes in treating elder adults and children in the outpatient setting at Providence Behavioral Health. Additionally, Donna is an adjunct professor at Rhode Island College School of Nursing and teaches psychiatry undergraduate nursing program. Before working as a Nurse practitioner she worked at Fatima Hospital for 11 years and Lifespan Inpatient Adults and Children (Bradley Hospital). Donna went to Community College of RI and graduated in 2010, and then pursued her Bachelor of Science at Salve University. She later attended Regis College for her Master of Science and graduated in 2022 with a sub-specialty in psychiatric services across the lifespan. She served as Vice president of the RI State Nursing . She is currently President elect of American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) and is on the board of directors for AORN RI. Donna has done great work organizing our NE 2025 conference. As future president her focus will be on to increase membership in New England territory and RI, and educating existing members of the benefits of and APNA membership!
